As a musician, composer, ardent Star Wars fan, and creator of the musical parody, Star Wars Musical, I was saddened to hear of the passing of Carrie Fisher. But mixed with sadness, it's a joy to see the tributes and old clips of Carrie over the years being shared, and I was surprised to find out she's actually quite the singer! Here are examples of her singing over the years.
Carrie singing in character as Princess Leia during the Star Wars Holiday Special. Starting around (1:13).
Appearing around (1:10), Carrie sings in this a cappella medley of Star Wars themes with Jimmy Fallon, The Roots, and other Force Awakens cast members.
Carrie Fisher and her mom Debbie Reynolds sing Happy Days/You Made Me Love You on Oprah.
Carrie sings "My Guy" in a 1982 episode of Laverne and Shirley
Carrie singing "The Way You Look Tonight" in Woody Allen's 1986 film, "Hannah & Her Sisters."
Carrie sings "What A Bastard The World Is" live with Plastic Ono Band.
Also check out Film/TV/Broadway star Haviland Stillwell's wonderfully hilarious portrayal as Princess Leia in Star Wars Musical!
Carrie Fisher will be missed, but not forgotten. May the force be with you!
